If You Think YOU’VE Got Problems!
Do life’s little problem get you down? The car won’t start, you’ve lost your house keys, a project you’re working on hasn’t quite panned out the way you thought? The niggles and gripes of daily life can so easily put a dent in your day. If too many of them come along at once, life can seem insufferable.
For example whilst getting out of bed this morning, I pulled a muscle in my back and am writing this in considerable discomfort. It’s certainly knocked the edge off my day. I know from experience it will take a few days to settle down, meanwhile I’ll have to move very gingerly. It’s the sort of thing that happens all the time, isn’t it? But after crawling to my computer (I’m after the sympathy vote here) and checking my emails, there was one from someone I barely know telling me about an amazing website she’s found (http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/) about a guy called Nick Vujicic. If you think YOU have problems, then check out Nick’s site. Okay it’s ultra-Christian (which is not at all to my taste) but you have to hand it to the guy. Nick was born without arms or legs and yet has managed to create an exceptionally powerful life for himself. As Nick said a while ago: “I want to become financially independent by the age of 25, through real estate investments, to modify a car for me to drive and to be interviewed and share my story on the Oprah Winfrey Show! Writing several best-selling books has been one of my dreams and I hope to finish writing my first by the end of the year. It will be called No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!”
This is really a true inspiration to us all. Yes I know it’s not always helpful to compare our life with someone else, but it does kind of put things in perspective. So think about Nick next time you’re tempted to bemoan your lot or use some thin excuse about why you cannot achieve all the things your heart desires.
